Libertarian Glenn Beck lectures republicans about the evils and dangerous thinking of Republican President Teddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt, a man who cannot run for president today, because he is dead.

74 year old libertarian Ron Paul wins the CPAC straw poll while promising to “End the Fed.” (End the Federal Government.)

And I was just searching for someone to tell me the truth. All I ended up with was a baloney sandwich.





Remember when Barack Obama was running for president and he was giving a speech (somewhere, the guy was everywhere?) In this speech, Obama said something like he was going to “stop pollution and lower the world’s sea levels..”

The thousands of Obama supporters went nuts: “Yeaaaa, Obama is going to lower the level of the oceans.”



Of course, conservatives like you and I thought to ourselves: “How the HELL could anyone fall for a line like that? How could a politician claim that they are going to lower the world’s sea levels? Who would believe this stuff..??”

I figured no group of Americans could be fooled by a “hopey- change” type message like that again.

I was wrong.

Standing in front of a packed crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was Ron Paul.



Dr. Paul told the crowd that he would “End the IRS.”

The crowd of conservatives cheered: “Yeaaaa, Paul will end taxes and end the IRS.”

Ron Paul went on and said that he would “End the FED (federal government.)”

The crowd went nuts: “Yeaaa, no more federal government.”

At this point, I began searching for my testicles, which had hit the floor and rolled somewhere under the couch.



With Ron Paul’s speech, I had just witness the birth of a new- BARRY.

Unfortunately, it was NOT the birth of a new BARRY Goldwater. It was the birth of a new BARRY Obama.



Barry Goldwater once said: “In this world, no politician can guaranty anything.” Goldwater then went on to list the things that he wanted to do, if you elected him president.

You might think that I am arguing over “words” here, but I am talking about honesty.

“Big deal” you might say. “They ALL do it” could be your reply.

No they do not “all do it.” Not all politicians promise to lower the world’s sea levels, or end the United States federal government.

These are blatantly false promises that you can never keep.

Even if you elected Ron Paul as president, you would never have enough members of congress to vote for “ending the fed.” Because congress IS THE FED.

Inside the political Right, in America, you have conservatives, libertarians, Tea Party members, moderates, and republicans fighting with each other over who should lead the Republican Party. (Or if we should abandon the Republican Party all together and start a new third party.)

This is, of course, the best thing that could ever happen to the Democrat Party.



(In case you were not paying attention, democrats were having some problems. That is, until us folks on the Right began fighting with each other.)

Democrats have been stalled for one year on a Health Care Insurance Bill. (Which they have cleverly rename- “Health Care Reform”, so they can claim that republicans do not want health care reform.)



Neo-Crats, (new democrats), progressives, old liberals, democrats, and moderates have been fighting with each for a year. We should be taking advantage of this.



However, the political Right has decided to fight with each other over semantics.

The funny thing is; current republican politicians have been doing almost exactly what we have asked them to do.

Not one of them, (to my knowledge) will vote for the democrats Health Bill.



None of the republicans are in favor of Cap and Trade. All are calling for spending cuts and lower taxes. Republican (and- or) conservative candidates are winning important elections across the country.

WHAT THE HELL MORE DO YOU WANT FROM THESE PEOPLE..??

Do you want a blood oath..??

The political Right does not need to find a presidential candidate for two years. So why are we fighting over this, now..??

Let me lay it out as plain as I can: Two years from today, we will still have a group of people, from the Right, who could be president, and we will still not know which one will win because we haven’t had any primaries yet.

So why fight over a leader now..??

“Is it Ron Paul?” “How about Sarah Palin?” “Mitt Romney has business experience” “How about a third party.”

These are interesting questions, however questions like these do not help stop democrats from raising taxes and expanding the federal government.

So why fight over this stuff now, two years before we have to?

WHY..??

Because you heard some really neat stuff coming from far right people and you are searching for utopia.

Having lived through and voted for the Ross Perot third party run in 1992, I will never fall for that again.



Ross Perot- Reform Party (16 % of the vote), George Bush Sr- Republican Party (38 %), Bill Clinton- Democrat (46 %).

Boy, I tell you what...

Us “rebels” in 1992 really showed the Republican Party..!! We all voted for the third party candidate and this allowed Bill Clinton to win. And we got...

Well, we showed them, and this action reformed the US government, because...

OK, but everyone remembers what we did on that day, we...

What..??

You don’t remember what we did? You don’t know what we were fighting for?

So, what was the point?

We might as well have been working for the Democrat Party.



Today, the idiotic fighting that people on the Right are doing, is also helping the Democrats. It will help democrats win elections in 2010, and Obama win in 2012.

If we stand together, we can beat these freedom stealing, tax raising ideas that democrats have.



However, if you buy into the “hope and change” coming from the libertarians, who are telling you that republicans are just as bad as democrats, you will give the victory to the democrats. And I will be asking you, three years from today: “How’s that libertarian Hope and Change working out for you?”



Remember, you could successfully elect a libertarian president. However, without a majority libertarian congress, that president is a lame duck, and will never get anything done.

So I have this feeling that I will be talking about libertarians, third party options, and Ron Paul a lot this year. Considering that Ron Paul is the most vocal, and he won the CPAC poll, let’s start with him...



Ron Paul on the US military.

Ron Paul has said that he wants to bring home all US soldiers stationed overseas. That we could save a lot of money by bringing troops home.

(CPAC crowd goes nuts- “Yeaaa, troops coming home. Save lots of money..!!”)

OK, that sounds really nifty, but how much money will you really save? Whether you have troops stationed here in the US, or in Germany; you are still going to pay their salaries, feed them, provide shelter, and care for their medical needs. How much money will you really save by doing this? Sure, it might cost a little more to provide for a soldier stationed in South Korea, as opposed to Mississippi. But come on, you are not going to save THAT MUCH money.

Unless, you are thinking about bringing these soldiers home and terminating their jobs..??

What kind of sick bastard would do something like that..??

In case you hadn’t noticed, we have a small problem with unemployment right now. And you are going to tell these soldiers: “Hey, thanks for serving our country, now take a hike. The unemployment office is that way..”

What kind of person would do this? In this bad economy..??

(Well, actually- Ron Paul. He doesn’t believe in maintaining a large standing army. To get the kinds of savings that Paul predicts, you would have to terminate almost half of the US forces.)

For this reason, Dr. Paul; you will never receive my vote.

Why do we need US troops stationed all over the world, anyway..??

I love this question because it is the easiest to answer.

Why do we have police officers stationed all over a city..?? Why do we have cops riding in cars and cops patrolling streets on foot? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to keep all of the cops at the police station?

We spread police officers around a city to deter crime, but also to have officers close to where emergencies might take place.



Having troops stationed around the world is a deterrent, (yes, you could debate that) however, having US troops stationed around the world helps provide help for other nations when tragedy strikes. When an earthquake happens, like in Chile, if US troops are stationed nearby, they can help much more quickly than if they have to leave the US and travel there.

If we follow Dr. Ron Paul’s advice, we will not have the manpower to help anyone, and we will be in the wrong place at the wrong time.



Ron Paul claims that if he is president, America will not rush to war so quickly.

This sounds really good, doesn’t it..!!

I mean, who wants war..??

But Paul’s statement does require a person to ask Mr. Paul: “What wars do you believe were “unnecessary American wars.”

All of them, (Dr. Paul might say, on any given day.) With the exception of The War of 1812, the Revolutionary War, and (maybe) WW2; Dr. Paul believes all US wars were unnecessary.

The Civil War was unnecessary..??

Sure, if you get anal with the constitution, yes; the federal government had no right to tell southern states that they could not leave the Union.

The US Constitution is very close to perfection. People are not.

When men try and do the right thing, they may not always follow the Constitution to the letter. President Lincoln was trying to keep the Union together, believing that we were stronger if united. Lincoln also believed that all men should be free, regardless of their skin color.

WW1 was an unnecessary war..??

Granted, you could argue that WW1 was “none of our business”, IF- you knew nothing of history.

I have no great love for President Wilson, however; you must understand that Wilson had millions, upon millions of new foreign immigrant in America at that time, many who recently came from European Nations. (I know, my Grandfather was one of them.)

These new Americans were reading about their former homelands being destroyed everyday and they wanted to help. President Wilson would have had rioting in US streets, had America not done something to help during WW1.
(Actually, Wilson didn’t want to enter the war. During his second term for president, Wilson ran with the motto: “He kept us out of the war.”) But, when photographs are showing death and destruction every day, it is hard to stand by and do nothing to help.

I cannot vote for Ron Paul just because of his stance on the military. We haven’t even gotten into his opinion on Social Security, road building and infrastructure, etc.

Hey, I love the sound of a smaller federal government with lower taxes, and more states rights; with greater personal freedom. We all do.

But I am a realist, and defeating the progressive agenda is my main goal.



If a few libertarians can win some elections, I have no problem with that. That is great.

However, conservatives have a better chance than libertarians of picking up more seats in the House and Senate.

Republicans have the best shot of any party in winning back the country, as a whole.

You can demand that your candidate be able to recite the US Constitution from front to back. That they will sign a paper claiming that they will never raise a single tax, EVER. You can proclaim that your candidate MUST urinate the colors of red, white and blue.

However, if you walk into a voting booth a choose a third party candidate who is trailing in the polls and has no shot at winning; you might as well vote for the democrat candidate. (Because, in reality, that is what you will be doing.)

I know, because I did that very same thing in 1992.

I was driving home from Youngstown Ohio last week. It was late and a very dark night with a little bit of slushy snow on the road.

All of a sudden my vehicle paused, then lurched back on. At first, I thought I might have slipped on some of the slush that was on the roadway. However, my vehicle didn’t do the classic “fish tail” slide that usually happens when you lose traction. No, this was something else.

Just then I saw that a warning light on my dashboard was lit. The warning light was in the shape of a wrench. I know what my “check engine” light looks like, and this wasn’t it. This little wrench symbol was something new to me, however the vehicle was driving pretty good, so I proceeded home.

THIS DECISION COULD HAVE KILL ME. (It has killed before.)



This was my introduction into a technology called “electronic throttle control.”

I pride myself in being mechanically inclined. This talent has saved my ass many times in the past when my chosen profession dries up, I can always find work in construction, or maintenance.

However, (like many guys who long for the simplicity of older cars) when it comes to computer controlled systems in modern cars, I might as well be in a foreign country searching for a toilet.

T- modules, ABS computers, electronic throttle controls...

What happened to the old Ford that us guys used to tinker with..??



As Toyota prepares itself for the “inquisition” by the US federal government, new facts are coming out about what might have really gone wrong with Toyota’s gas peddle sticking and people dying.

New evidence is pointing away from “floor mats” as being the problem, and it looks like the problem might be located within the Toyota’s computer system.



People are starting to believe that something is wrong within the “electronic throttle control.”

Older cars had a cable (Bowden cable) which physically attached the gas peddle to the engine’s throttle. It was similar to the cable on a ten-speed bicycle. When you pushed on the gas peddle, the cable opened up the throttle and more gas went into the engine. The car went faster. Take your foot off of the gas peddle and a spring pushed the peddle back up, the throttle closed up, and the engine slowed down.

Very simple, even I understand that.

TODAY, you no longer have control of the engine. You might think that you do because (normally) when you step on the gas peddle, the car takes off. Remove your foot, and the car slows down. (At least, that is what is supposed to happen.)

But, technically, the cable has been removed between the gas peddle and the engine. You are now relying on a system called: “Drive by wire.”

That evil- “electronic throttle control” comes into play.



Here is what happens in newer cars: When you step on the gas peddle, a signal is sent to the car’s computer that you want to go faster. The computer decides how fast the car should go, and by using electronics; the computer moves the throttle, which allows more gas to the engine.

Likewise, when you take your foot off of the gas peddle, the computer senses that you want to slow down, and the computer slows the engine by moving the throttle.



(But, something is going wrong in Toyota cars. And my Ford.)

Why would car manufactures put these evil “electronic throttle controls” into our cars..??

Are car manufacturers trying to kill us..??

Do the auto companies work with The Bilderberg Society and they are trying to lower the world’s population? By killing us with cars..??

Truth be told, car companies would probably still be using a good old fashion cable between the gas peddle and the engine because the cable costs about $5 bucks. Computer controlled systems cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars.

So why would car companies use this unsafe computer system..??

Save the earth, let’s all go green, we must save the polar bears, cars MUST get better gas mileage, yada, yada, yada.



Progressives are trying to kill you, with a Toyota.

Environmentalists, who demanded that cars get better gas milage, persuaded our federal government to mandate gas milage standards for newer cars.

Car makers used lighter steel and fiberglass. They used smaller engines. Car companies did all they could to get more miles per gallon of gas.

However, they still needed to gain a few more miles per gallon to meet the federal standards.

ENTER- (the evil) electronic throttle control.

You are too stupid to drive your car. If left alone, you and your BIG lead-foot would waste gallons of gas just buzzing to the coffee shop for a Mocha- Latte.

What if a computer actually controlled the engine..?? A computer is smarter than you silly little humans.

Sure, if you slammed on the gas peddle to get onto a highway, the computer would give you more gas to allow you to do so. However, when you are not paying attention, the computer could back-off the throttle all little and save fuel.

Hence, the logic behind electronic throttle control: to save gas. Because you are too stupid and you would waste gas; your privilege of controlling your vehicle’s engine has been revoked. The computer is in control now.

But just like in the movie “2001 Space Odyssey”, sometimes the computer goes haywire, and takes you on a joyride to hell.

This is something that we conservatives try to warn progressives about, but you folks will never listen to us.

You cannot mandate- change.

Change comes naturally.

Necessity is the Mother of invention.

The federal government’s demand is NOT the Mother of invention.

The federal government cannot command that: by 2005, all cars will get 5 MORE miles per gallon. In trying to meet that deadline, car companies have relied on “under tested” technologies, and people are dying.

No, I’m not giving the car companies a pass. They are just as responsible and should never have used this “drive by wire” system.

But I do sympathize with the auto makers. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Car makers MUST meet the federal mandate on MPG, however they know that people do not want these little tin boxes that the government and progressives want us to buy.



So car makers use every trick in the book to get a bigger car to pass the federal mandate.

This decision by the federal government and the auto makers has been deadly.

This editorial will be re-published many times this year because we need to learn from our mistakes.

Being intelligent, you know as well as I do that our electrical grid is in the cross hairs of progressives and the federal government.

Just like with cars, progressives and the government will mandate that electric companies use (X) amount of “green” technology by (XXXX) date.

And just like with the cars, electric companies will have to force technologies (that are not perfected yet) into production, and people will die from this. You will experience long periods without electricity because the electrical grid is down. In the winter time, up north; a loss of power can kill people who rely on heat to survive.

You cannot mandate- change.

Change come naturally through necessity.

You cannot set an artificial date and claim that “change” will happen on this date. It doesn’t work like that and people die.

You might be tempted to say: “Hold on there, AR- what about John F Kennedy and his announcement that America will land a man on the moon within this decade (1960's). Isn’t that forced- technology..?? That worked out fine..”

That is a very good point..!!

However, JFK didn’t mandate it. Kennedy didn’t say “By law, NASA will land a man on the moon by Dec 31 1969, or face a penalty” and then leave it up to NASA to come up with the money for this technology.

No...

Kennedy made landing on the moon a national goal (not a federal mandate) and then Kennedy started funding NASA with federal money to make this goal a reality. Nothing legal would have happened to NASA if they did not meet this goal.

One could argue that even JFK’s proposal was “forced” and the rushed technology caused some fatal accidents on our way to the moon.



I have no problem with a modern president setting goals, or funding these goals. I am not against using solar panels and windmills to provide a percentage of power for America.

But like the “out of control” cars, speeding down the road and killing people; when you force technology into use before it is perfected...

People get killed.

Surely, progressives can understand the difference between a GOAL and a mandate..??

(NOTE) Some auto makers use an electronic throttle control, but also have a “back-up” cable between the gas peddle and engine. If there is a malfunction with the car’s computer, the old-fashion cable is engaged and the computer is turned off. This is the system that my Ford has, which allowed me to get back home. This system seems MUCH better and safer.



(ALSO NOTE) One of the problems with windmills for power is: If your windmill is working good and providing you with power and, also putting some power back into the US power grid, everything is fine. However, if your windmill is malfunctioning, what stops power from the grid from entering your windmill and blowing the shit out of your windmills electronics and generator? (Electronic “switching gear” and diodes have not been perfected yet, and they are having problems with them.)



Problem two: With a “wind farm”, it is easy for a power company worker to shut down the main power when they have to work on power lines. However, in the future, when hundreds of people own windmills, it is impossible for the electric company to go to everyone who owns a windmill and shut them down so they can work on power lines. The electrician can check for power on the lines before he touches them, however; if some farmer down the road engages his windmill, people can be killed.

You cannot mandate change.

You cannot set a date in time and say “change” will happen on that date.

These technologies need more time to be perfected.

A man from Ohio, after hearing that he will lose his house from a bank foreclosure, rents a bulldozer and knocks the house down before the bank can take it from him.



A deranged man, (Joe Stack) who blames the American government and the capitalistic system, flies his plane into an IRS office in Texas. Killing himself and another person.

Are these two events random..??

Or a sign of things to come..??



It would be very easy to make a political statement here.

“..Politicizing a tragedy..”

For example, I could say that Terry Hoskins (of Ohio) belongs to the progressive left and doesn’t honor a contract between the bank and himself. So when the bank began to foreclose on his home, he knocked the house down with a bulldozer.

Or, I could say that Joe Stack belongs to the liberal left because he hated President Bush and BIG corporations. It was because of the American “system” that he flew his plane into the IRS building.

So, both of these crazy people were from the progressive left, right..??

Not so fast...

Both of these men were in trouble with the IRS.

Both of these men were angry with high taxation and the POWER of the IRS.

That doesn’t sound so “left-wing” to me..!!



So we find ourselves at an intersection.

And, a generation of Americans would learn that an evil conservative KILLED President Obama because he thought that Obama was leading the country into socialism.

America MUST see a full 4 year term of President Obama. So Americans can witness, just like with President Carter, how progressive liberalism doesn’t have all the answers. It just doesn’t work. It doesn’t end poverty. (We still have poor.)

...it was tough to do, and I am very glad that you stuck with me. However, I believe that we have solved this whole “left- right” political fighting with this editorial.

Just remember...

Folks on the left- you have got to start listening to us on the right; we cannot keep building these BIG government programs. People are being taxed into the poor house. They are becoming violent.

The government wants to put a tax on soda pop, a 5 cent tax every time a song is played on the radio, a new gas tax, a NEW tax on your Internet usage, and a “value added tax” on products so that the government can tax the same product many times during the making of that product. My God, man. The founding fathers would not recognize America.

And the right...

Maybe we could tone it down a little on the whole “Obama is Hitler” and he is going to turn America into a Fascist, Communistic, Socialistic country.



America MUST see a full- 4 year term of a progressive president. You and I both know that progressive politics will not work. But others must see it for themselves. It is the only way that they will learn. (Because they will not listen to us.)

There is nothing that President Obama can do, that we cannot fix later on.
