You have offended me for the last time

You have offended me for the last time

I just read a story in which some people are offended that White actor: Robert Downey Jr was nominated for an award for playing a Black Man in the movie "Tropic Thunder."

Actually, Robert plays a White actor who is playing a Black man. So it isn’t Robert playing a Black man. (Although he is.) You following me on this..??

So, some people feel that a White guy playing a Black guy is a little Queer.

(I’m sorry. I didn’t mean "queer" as referring to a persons sexual preference.)

Let me try this again...

Some people are offended that a modern movie and a present day actor would actually have a White man paint his face dark and play a Black man.

Do these "offended" people have a point here? Or are they just being gay?

(OK, I screwed up again. I didn’t mean "gay" as in homosexual. I meant "gay" as in "weird.")

Oh.. Crap..??

I didn’t mean to say that "gay" was weird. I meant "gay" in the sense like they would have used the term "gay" back in the 1940's. Back when a White man could play a Black Man in a movie and no one would be offended.

OK, I didn’t mean that Black people in the 1940's were more "tolerant" than Black people today. No, I didn’t mean that at all.

What I was trying to say is that in the 1940's, you didn’t have people getting offended if a White man played a Black man or an Indian.

Hey, in the 40's, they called Native Americans: "Indians."

What the hell does that have to do with me..!!

What the #@$# could I have possibly said that would have offended a cow..??

Hey, all of you "offended" people are really starting to piss me off..!!

I can’t say anything without "offending" someone.

I have never been this "offended" in all my life..!!

I am happy to see liberals happy (again.)

I am happy to see liberals happy (again.)

You think that this last 8 years was a long period FOR YOU..??

It was a freaking nightmare for me..!!

It was a nightmare for me because I read your editorials and your blog posts, and I began to believe that half of the people in this country hated America. By reading your thoughts, it sounded like democrats want to tear this country down and start over. (Like you folks had lost your minds.)

Some went as far as saying that they hated America and wanted to leave.
But that has all changed. Yesterday, I watched as millions of Americans got themselves "happy" again.

I am happy to see that you are happy, again.

However, the conservative inside of me has to ask: Obama hasn’t done anything yet. What are you happy about?

Are you imagining what President Obama MIGHT do, and that makes you happy..??

Or are you just happy that President Bush has left the building..??

Either way, I guess I can understand it.

However, why would you let "one person" effect your "happiness" about your country..??

Every person who has lived through 4 or 5 decades can recite several GREAT presidents and a couple of terrible ones. (Does it really matter which party they are affiliated with..??)

Good presidents transcend any one political party. Bad presidents redefine their political party. (Or FORCE the redefinition of.)

Since you are going to see your fair share of good and bad presidents, why would you ever let one president shape your opinion of this country?

I know that my statement above begs for someone to write back: "we liberals never hated America, we hated Bush.."

Yes, I believe that to be true.

However, I can go back into your blog sites and point to past posts in which you accused the American military of targeting innocent people.

Now, you freaking know that the American military doesn’t target innocent people for the hell of it. You know that..!! We spend a million dollars on ONE BOMB that can be remotely flown into it’s target just so that we do not hit innocent people.

You accused Sarah Palin of not giving birth to her child and you claimed that Sarah wanted to burn library books.

You built countless conspiracy theories on how hundreds of US officials (covered up) and killed it’s own people during 9/11.

You told small children that the president of the United States is a "War Criminal", when no charges of war crimes have been proven in a court of law and Americans- (all Americans) are innocent until proven guilty.

Do you really think that all of this "stuff" that you created in your mind, got Barack Obama elected..??

(If you do, than you might as well stop reading this editorial, because you will never comprehend what I am saying.)

Barack Obama didn’t win this election because people believed the lies that were told about Bush.

Obama didn’t win this election because you were able to "boo" President Bush during his speech.

Obama won the 2008 election because he is a gifted writer and speaker.
Obama won because America was ready for him. America was ready for change.

Obama won because President Bush was never able to communicate why he needed to do, (what it was that he was doing.) Yes, Bush kept us safe from another attack on our soil. But Bush never could explain why we needed waterboarding, or Gitmo, or warrantless wiretaps.

In the end, Obama won because he did a better job of campaigning than John McCain and Sarah Palin. (Yes, I left out Joe Biden on purpose.)

None of the lies, or the conspiracy theories got Obama elected.

The only thing that this "crap" did, was create a DEEP divide between you and me.

Why do you want to "divide" the country..??

On that note, I want to repeat the title of this editorial and say; I am happy that liberals are happy again.

I would love to show you how you can oppose a political party WITHOUT condemning America, or the military as a whole.

The last thing that I want to do is cause some young mind to think that the whole country is going to hell because President Obama did something that I didn’t like.

One person doesn’t have that kind of power, in America.

Because we have freedom, (and we have guns.)

One person cannot destroy this nation..!!

Anything that a bad president does, can be "undone" later on.

We lived through Nixon. He was a crook, but he didn’t destroy the country.

We lived through Clinton. He was a liar, but he didn’t destroy the country.

We lived through Bush. He took liberties with the constitution to go after terrorists. He didn’t watch the economy like he should have. But he didn’t destroy America. We are still here.

We are still here and we will be here after President Obama has left the building.

Everyone wants their "political party" to be in charge. It makes us feel safe. (For some people, I think it is more of a game, like football; trying to get your team to win.)

But you have to admit, none of the "bash Bush" stuff won this election.
Democrats won this election because Barack Obama was the first good candidate that the democrats have run in 10 years. John Kerry had no appeal and Al Gore was a bore.

Obama won because he inspires hope in many people. I have to give him that.
So, in conclusion, I will leave this editorial with some words from President Obama..

(I have altered this passage slightly.)

"...If you liberals want to unclinch your Bush bashing, Bush hating fists for a minute; I am reaching out my hand to shake yours..."

There is much I do not like about Obama’s policies. However, President Bush did some things I am not too happy over...

Time will tell.

I, along with hundreds of conservatives, will keep a watchful eye on President Obama. (I am hopeful that we do not turn into a "mirror image" of what liberals did to President Bush.)

OK, with that said; here is my favorite section of President Obama’s speech:

"...We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist..."

My LAST post on President Bush

My LAST post on President Bush

I thought about NOT doing a final editorial on President Bush. (What’s left to say..??)
If you like the guy; you are going to talk about how George Bush kept this country from being attacked again, like it was in September of 2001.
If you hate President Bush; you are going to take this last moment to kick the guy in the face, one more time.
So, really; what is left for me to say?
However, after thinking about it, I should do at least (one) editorial. After all, I supported this president, the least I can do is explain why I supported Bush.
I will do that right after we take a short break for a word from our sponsor. (We must pay our bills.)
Our sponsor for this post is "Comrades" family fun park, where everyone is equal.

Come to "Comrades" family fun park..!!
At "Comrades", it doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, White or Black, high class or poor trailer trash; everyone is treated equal at "Comrades."
We do not have BIG rides or fancy shows, like those other Theme Parks. But we have great family games like Uno, Battleship, and Twister.
We do not have great food either. Mostly we have cheese and crackers. But you will not leave hungry.
Comrades will fit you like a glove because no one is ABOVE you, and no one is below you. Comrades is a paradise where everyone is equal.
Best of all, one week at Comrades will feel like a month.
Comrades Admission price:
If you make under $30,000 per year- admission is FREE
Between $50,000 and $30,000- Admission- $1,000
Between $100,000 and $50,000- Admission- $5,000
And, if you make over $100,000 per year, admission is only $10,000 bucks per person..!!
You will not be sorry that you came to Comrades.
Just follow our handy map.

You’ll never forget your stay at "Comrades".
It sticks with you forever..!!

OK, back to my editorial on President Bush.
Like it or not...
President Bush has become an image of a slice of America, frozen in time.
There are those people who believe that 9/11 was a "police matter." That terrorism is a crime not unlike theft, and should be dealt with by cops and US courts.
However, most people feel that terrorism is NOT an average crime. Because of the nature of the funding, the reach of the organization, and the death and destruction that terrorists can claim; the US military is a better defense than using a traffic cop to catch terrorists.
That is why most Americans believe that the invasion of Afghanistan was justified.
It is the invasion of Iraq that has America divided.
We will return to this editorial right after another word from our sponsor.
The sponsor for this editorial is "Comrades" family fun park. Where everyone is equal.

"Comrades" is the BEST place to be.
You and every one else is equal and stuff like that.
However, the "Comrades" family fun park is chuck full of people who only make $30,000 per year. (And they get into the park for FREE.)
We do not seem to have ANYONE who makes over $31,000 per year coming to our park. (And paying the admission price of $1,000 bucks.)
We do not understand why this is happening..??
We assumed that EVERYONE, rich or poor, would want to come to "Comrades" family fun park and play "Twister" with each other?
Rich people are not coming here..??
If this trend continues, "Comrades" will have to claim chapter 11 bankruptcy.
If you would like to come to "Comrades" family fun park, (please, no more poor people) just follow our stupid map.

"Comrades", where everyone is freaking equal.

OK, back to the FINAL President Bush editorial.
President Bush’s decision to remove Saddam from Iraq is the turning point for many Americans. (Note) I didn’t notice many anti- Iraq War sentiments until the Iraq War started to go bad. During the "Shock and Awe" portion, through the Saddam statue coming down, on up to Saddam being dragged from a hole in the ground, most people were in support of the War.
(Even democratic politicians were on board with the war at first.)
It was when strategic errors were made and terrorists began entering Iraq, did people began to question the logic of removing Saddam.
President Bush won his reelection.
However, Bush lost much support from middle America over the federal response after hurricane Katrina.
President Bush lost the support of many conservatives from his spending spree on federal projects.
During this whole period, the Bush administration was never able to communicate "why" it was doing "what it was doing?"
This LACK of communication left many "blanks" in the media.
Liberals were able to fill in those "blanks" and were able to win in the 2006 and 2008 elections.
President Bush was never able to communicate that President Lincoln took a few liberties with the constitution to win the Civil War. FDR did the same with WW2. (So why is it wrong to take liberties with the constitution to win a war against terrorists..??)
President Bush was never able to explain to conservatives why he felt that amnesty for illegals, or funding a senior drug program, were important to him and not necessarily anti- conservative. (President Reagan had no problem granting amnesty for illegals?)
President Bush NEVER had the support from the far left. (Because of politics and the screwed up 2000 election.) However, Bush went from a 90% approval rating, (just after 9/11) to the current low: which is in the twenties. Bush lost support from most of America. Why..??
Because Bush was never able to explain why he was doing- what he was doing.
In the end, (at the risk of sounding redundant) it was President Bush’s lack of communication that brought him down. (And Bush placed trust in some people that he shouldn’t have.)
My final thoughts on President Bush after this message from our sponsor.

"Comrades" is the family fun park- blah, blah, blah...
Where everyone is equal- blah, blah, blah...
Lately, "Comrades" has been completely full of poor people who DO NOT pay the admission price. (Which is causing "Comrades" to have to file for bankruptcy.)
Some "other" businesses in the area had suggested that we change our admission policy and charge a "flat rate" for everyone.
But we wouldn’t be "Comrades" if we did that..!!
Well, I have GREAT news..!!
The US government is going to bail out "Comrades."
15 billion dollars..!!
So, we have decided to DROP the cost of our admission price for this season. That’s right..!!
If you make $50,000 per year or less, admission is FREE.
If you make over $51,000 per year, admission is ONLY $1,000 per person in your group.
So pack up your stuff and come to "Comrades", the family fun park where everyone is equal.
We have some new games for you this year- "Operation" and "Monopoly", plus: we have a bunch of cheese and crackers.
You can find us by using this handy map.

"Comrades" the family fun park where everyone is equal.

All right, glad to hear that "Comrades" is being bailed out! Nothing like playing "Twister" with a person who hasn’t bathed in a week.

Back to Bush.
My personal feelings on President Bush is:
"What you see, is what you get."
There is nothing "phony" with this guy. And that is very refreshing in a political world where politicians will say one thing, and do another.

Bush said he would not fund embryonic stem cell research. (And he didn’t.)
Bush said he would remove Saddam from Iraq. (And he did.)
Bush said he would stop terrorists from attacks on our soil. (And he did.)
Bush said we could win the War in Iraq. (And we pretty much have.)
Bush said he would find Osama bin Laden. (And...)
Hence; the problem...
Bush was never flexible enough to change; when change was required.
President Bush was NOT conservative.
Bush was mostly republican, (with a little hint of liberalism thrown in.)
I believe President Bush was a good man who did the best that he could.
I rank Bush WAY below President Reagan, but above President Carter. I believe Bush was better than President Clinton on defense, but way below Clinton on the economy and domestic issues.
In my opinion...
President Bush is a good man who tried to do the right thing.
In my life, I have never seen this much "stuff" thrown at one president.
The biggest attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor, by an enemy who comes from no particular country and doesn’t identify itself on the battlefield with uniforms, or follow the Geneva Convention.
(I sometimes wonder how FDR or Lincoln would have handled an enemy that doesn’t reveal itself and hides in the civilian population?)
Bush had to deal with a massive hurricane and flood that destroyed a major US city.
Plus an economy that could have rivaled the great depression if "things" weren’t done quickly to stop it.
("Things" that both republicans and democrats seemed to agree on?)
When you put it all together;
I believe that President Bush is a good man who did the best that he could, during a difficult time in American history.
As more time passes, and secure documents are released; we will find out how close and dangerous certain elements where during this time that we live in. This will change a few people’s minds on "why" Bush did what he did.
President elect Obama has already changed his mind on a few things, now that Obama has been privileged to inspect this inside information.
More will be revealed...
Time has a funny way of changing what you believe to be true.

Do you think you know President Bush..??
Take the President Bush test.
(I got 17 of 20 questions right.)
One question that I missed...
What has NOT been thrown at President Bush during his term in office?
A shoe
A pumpkin
A grenade
(I guessed the wrong answer to that one..??)

5,000 toilets for Obama

Democrats and liberals everywhere are worried if Barack Obama has enough toilets for the inauguration.

Matter of fact, a professor of law at George Washington University warns that Obama could be sued over toilets. (The lack of enough toilets.)

It was only 7 years ago that we were worried about terrorists flying planes into our buildings and killing innocent people.
Just a few months ago, we were worried about the economy, and that we might head into a great depression.
However, today- that has all changed.

Democrats are (almost) in the White House, and we are worried about toilets.
Hey: Toilets are important..!!
So, I want to ask you…
How many toilets should Obama have?
5,000 are fine
20,000 toilets
100,000 toilets
300 billion toilets- one for everyone

Since all of the "BIG" issues like the War, the economy, and stuff like that are solved (or at least- tucked away somewhere), why not talk about toilets..??
I voted for 5,000 toilets because I know that Obama has researched this and I am sure that Obama has given toilets much thought.

Besides, why should we worried about the BIG issues, look at who Obama has selected to lead us forward:
Leon Panetta, who has never worked in the CIA, or been an agent, is going to be the top CIA boss.
(What could go wrong here..??)

Tim Geithner, (who didn’t know that he needed to pay his taxes) will head up the US Treasury Department. Geithner, who helped cut restrictions on banking which helped Citi Group go on a risky loan spree, which caused Citi Group’s demise. Geithner will now helm US taxes and banking.
(Really, people; you are in good hands..!!)

Hillary Clinton: who’s husband takes money from friends, enemies, and just about ANYONE who will deliver millions to the Clinton library. Hillary will run the State Department.
(So, I ask you again: "What could go wrong..??")
I think I now understand why liberals are talking about toilets.

Crowd pleaser- getting your A$$ handed to you

People love you when you are getting the crap beat out of you. When your face is being pushed into the muck, that is when people care.

For example: People seemed to tolerate Israel when Hamas rockets rained down into this tiny State; day after day.
However, the minute that Israel retaliated against Hamas, they lost all compassion from the world.

The United States also found this to be true...
Just after 9/11 when we were at our lowest, the world poured out sympathy for us. (I believe France even send us 2,000 beds. Or, maybe that was during Katrina?)
However, the minute we lashed out at Afghanistan and pulled Saddam from a hole in the ground, we lost sympathy from the world. We become "the hated."
So, if we use this analogy, the answer would be to keep getting your ass handed to you- FOREVER, until the day you die. Then, and only then, the world will love you.
(Note) You are dead. Your ass was kicked every single day of your life by "someone." However, the world LOVES you.

So, I’m trying to figure out where this concept came from? (Because, usually; the "good guy" is justified regardless if he is winning or losing a battle.)
Did it come from Hollywood..??

Name one movie where the "good guy" gets his ass kicked AND NEVER retaliates near the end of the movie?
I can’t think of one?
(My first thought was Clint Eastwood’s "The Unforgiven." Where the "good guy" was actually bad. The "Bad guy" was actually fighting for a good reason. However, near the end of this movie; the "bad" GOOD guy does take revenge and is respected in this old western town.)
Could you imagine Batman, Rambo, or James Bond getting slapped around AND NOT seeking some sort of revenge?
Even Hollywood movies teach people to fight for what they believe, so this idea that "losing is GOOD" doesn’t necessarily come from Hollywood.

The Bible teaches people to "turn the other cheek" and to love your enemies. However, the people who are pushing the "good guy must lose" idea probably do not read the Bible.
This idea that "winning is bad" could come from the school system. I seem to remember the idealism being taught that there may not be a "right and wrong", (or good and bad) because of a "gray area" where the BAD guy might be a good guy to someone else.

So if you were taught (and you believe) that right could be wrong and "bad" could be good, then you wouldn’t want to see America or Israel win a war. (Because of the gray area where right could be wrong and good could be bad.)
OK, I understand that. (I do not agree with it, but I can understand it.) But, then how could these same people go to the movies and watch a "hero" beat up the bad guys..??
Somehow, they are able to turn off this "gray area" idealism long enough to watch the movie?
Maybe we have found our answer...

I believe that every person instinctively understands right from wrong. (They just pretend that they didn’t know what they were doing was wrong.) In school, or maybe through parents, children learn of a "gray area" between right and wrong. This causes these people to rethink what they knew to be true.

Here is a great example
:

The democratic mayor of Baltimore (Sheila Dixon) was just indicted for stealing Christmas gift cards for the poor and using them on herself to buy video games and furs. She was having sex in her office, (with a guy who wasn’t her husband). And she took many gifts in exchange for city contracts awarded to the gift givers.
At this point: it doesn’t matter if you are a democrat or a republican; if you are White or Black, you KNOW what Sheila Dixon did was wrong.

So right now, your "gray area" idealism is turned off, and you can tell right from wrong.
However, in the weeks to come; you will be bombarded with "extra" information about Ms. Dixon. Maybe you will learn that she grew up in a tough situation. You might learn that there are many other politicians doing about the same thing, so why pick on the Baltimore Mayor?
(These are things that shouldn’t matter..!! She committed a crime.)
Your "gray area" idealism will kick in and you will no longer be able to tell right from wrong and a criminal will get away with a crime.

Take Illinois Governor Blago; when we first heard the audio tape of Blago trying to sell Barack Obama’s senate seat, we all knew that he was a criminal. (No gray area.)
However, in the weeks that followed; the spin started that "Blago hadn’t really committed a crime yet. He just TALKED about selling Obama’s senate seat. Blago didn’t actually sell it yet.."
(Would that be like a terrorist who TALKED about blowing up the White House. But he is OK because he didn’t actually blow it up yet..??)
Republicans even began to speak highly of Blago because "he made the democratic party look bad."
In this last example, republicans are using the gray area idealism to allow a crook (Blago) to stay in office, (because democrats put Blago there and the people need to see what the democrats have done.)
A crook is a crook, and Blago should have been made to step down long time ago.
Lets take one more look at today’s news:
A video tape of Britain’s Prince Harry calling an Afghan tribesman a "raghead" surfaced this weekend. He also called a fellow Pakistan soldier his: "Paki friend."
Now, most of us know that during a war, soldiers talk tough to "toughen" each other up. Prince Harry was serving in the British military and during a war, you may not always be politically correct.
However, in the next few days; depending on which side of the political fence you dwell on- you will look at this statement by Prince Harry different.
If you are for the war in Iraq, you will believe that we always call the enemy names. Hell, terrorists call us names like "western dogs" and "pigs." So what if Prince Harry called a terrorist a "raghead?"
However, if you are against the War in Iraq, you will believe that what Prince Harry said was the worst possible thing ANYONE could have said. You will believe that statements like this are causing Arab people not to like us.
"Gray area" idealism is a fun way to debate in the safety of a school. It gives a person representing an unfavorable position a chance to win the debate. However, it is a terrible way to send a child into the real world.
People MUST know the difference between right and wrong.

Every car thief could argue the "gray area" of why they should have a car.
Every rapist could point out the "gray area" of why the girl was "asking for it."

"Gray area" idealism is a great debating trick, but that is as far as it should go.
Radical Islam is USING the gray area idealism to win your mind over to their side. Terrorists have you convinced that right could be wrong and that bombing a restaurant full of innocent people is OK- because... (Well, they have many reasons. "We killed innocent people because you buy oil." Or- "Israel sits on land that was ours, so instead of talking- we shoot rockets into Israel because of the gray area and you have no freaking clue of what is right and wrong..")

Gray area idealism causes you to fall for political spin and not recognize an enemy (until it is too late.)
I have to fight very hard to shut down my "gray area" idealism (that was forced into my brain as a child), or I find myself falling victim to the spin doctors.
You begin to believe that:
It’s OK to blow up innocent people and retaliation is the evil.
It is OK to steal gift cards from the poor because your life was bad and everyone is doing it. (Or because you think republicans do worse.)
When you think about it; how could "right" ever be wrong..??
